Outlook Mission Bay Project Update 5
The excavation of the basement levels has continued to steam ahead and there is currently a rather large hole situated on the northern side of Kepa Road. It’s astounding to think that we are only 14 months from projected completion!
A dawn ceremony and sacred rock burial benchmarked the latest construction phase on-site as local representatives from Ngati Whatua Orakei led the early morning cultural acknowledgement. The stone was buried below the foundations, marking the lowest point of the excavation on-site.
Alongside the final excavation work, the plumbing team are currently installing drainage, steel reinforcing is being positioned for concrete pours, and the base of the tower crane is being fixed in place. Once the concrete for the crane base has hardened the rest of the segments will be fixed in place and the crane will tower over the site for the next 10 months.
The Development Approval clause in the sales contract is now satisfied with ANZ Bank funding having been approved, this means that any new purchases will not be subject to this clause as it has been struck-out in the contract. More information on the purchase process can be found here – Outlook Mission Bay Purchaser Guide.
The Outlook community has continued to grow and everyone got together (again) to celebrate with our friends from JK.14! We enjoyed a wonderful night of wine, food and stories from Sir John, and it was great to see new neighbours meeting each other and sharing their tales of how they have ended up being purchasers at Outlook.
Prospective buyers continue to show interest, and another apartment went under contract this week. The couple currently live locally in St Heliers and commented that the sunny aspect, secure community living and peaceful garden outlook were features that hold a strong appeal for them. They went on to say “the certainty around the building time-frame was a huge factor for us, we can’t wait to move in next year”.
We still have the renders and model on display in the Bayleys office at 8 Hereford Street, Freemans Bay. The office is open Monday-Friday during business hours and from 10.30am – 11.30am on the weekend.
